We all know that blueberries are antioxidant packed and super delicious, however we thought we’d share three interesting blueberry facts you may not know!

  1. They do wonders for our skin

Blueberries neutralise free radicals that are responsible for damaging skin cells, therefore leaving your skin feeling younger and softer. They have the ability to leave you with soft, glowing skin as they are high in vitamin C content, which works with the collagen of our skin to keep it looking fresh and smooth.

  1. They are good for your heart

It has been suggested that blueberries may have significant health benefits for people with high blood pressure, a major risk factor for heart disease. Being a flavonoid-rich food, they can also decrease the risk of high cholesterol.

  1. They can make you smarter (and happier)

Blueberries can boost concentration and energy levels. A study published in 2010 in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that after 12 weeks of drinking blueberry juice daily, adults started to experience better learning and recall abilities than those who didn’t drink blueberry juice. The blueberry group also showed reduced symptoms of depression.
